I have a Collins 51J-4 receiver, S/N 2509 that needs to find a good home with a Collins collector or user. The receiver has three filters:
one (1) type F500B14, S/N 6813, P/N 526 903 000 one (1) type F500B31, S/N 11N2, P/N 526 900 800 the third filter has no cover but is believed to be operational
The tuning unit of the receiver is a type 70E15, S/N 4685CR.
The receiver is in excellent physical and electrical condition. It appears to have all of the original knobs, tube shields and parts with the exception of the filter cover previously mentioned and the meter switch which has been replaced with a similar one. The broken meter switch will be included with the receiver.
No modifications are evident to me and the front panel and the chassis/covers have no large dents or scratches. The front panel lettering is in excellent condition. Some cleaning and a good home is all this old beauty needs. It was previously owned and operated, until about a year ago, by an 88 year old ham operator.
The cost of shipping and insurance will be added to the amount bid for the item. Payment for the item plus shipping and insurance must be a money order or cashiers check. A personal check will be accepted but the item will not be shipped until the check has cleared.
